Dian Paramesti is a freelance translator with Bahasa Indonesia as mother tongue. She translates documents (books, brochure, subtitles, etc.) from English into Bahasa Indonesia.
Dian started in on encyclopedia series of science translated from English into Bahasa, done together with her schoolmates of English Departement--Faculty of Letter, University of Indonesia, 1990. In 1991, an assistant lecturer had her apply for a job post as English-Indonesian translator in a newly-founded business publishing company. A year later she moved job to an established publishing company, where she gained the opportunity of expanding her competence and professional experience in English-Indonesian translation, proofreading, as well as writing for the company bulletin. There she met her husband--a workmate, computer book writer and programmer, who encouraged her to take the liberty of starting in an independent career as a freelance translator, which she did in 1996. Dian has now translated some books from several publishers, they were published in Indonesia.
